How to Choose the Right CPAP Mask

January 2, 2026

Different styles of CPAP masks

The mask is the part of CPAP therapy you feel the most, so getting it right makes all the difference. There are three main styles, and the best one depends on how you breathe and sleep.

Nasal masks

These cover the nose and are a popular all-round choice. They are lightweight and work well for many people.

Nasal pillow masks

These rest at the entrance of the nostrils, with very little on your face. They suit people who feel closed in by larger masks or who wear glasses in bed.

Full-face masks

These cover the nose and mouth, and are a good fit if you breathe through your mouth or have nasal congestion.

Getting the fit right

A good seal without over-tightening is the goal. Cushions and headgear wear out over time and should be replaced on a schedule. If your mask leaks or feels uncomfortable, call us. We will help you adjust it or find a better style.
